FORGE
This week marks a significant milestone—The Forge. It’s the final test, the ultimate challenge that transforms recruits into soldiers.
What is The Forge?
The Forge is a grueling 96-hour field training exercise at the end of Basic Combat Training. It pushes recruits to their physical, mental, and emotional limits. They face intense scenarios, including simulated combat situations, sleep and food deprivation, long marches, and teamwork-based missions. It’s designed to test everything they’ve learned—resilience, endurance, problem-solving, and most importantly, the ability to push forward despite exhaustion and hardship.
Why It Matters
This is the moment where they prove they have what it takes to wear the uniform with pride. Once completed, they earn their beret and the title of United States Army Soldier. It’s a defining moment—where they transition from civilians to warriors, joining the elite 1% of Americans who step up to defend our freedom.
A Mother’s Pride
As our son faces The Forge, we leave a light on for him—symbolizing our unwavering support, our prayers for strength and encouragement, and our belief in him. He is stepping into his purpose, realizing what he is truly made of. Through grit, perseverance, and heart, he will emerge not just as our son, but as an American Soldier.
May he find strength in the challenge, courage in his struggle, and pride in his accomplishment. Soon, he will stand among the few who have earned the right to be called defenders of our nation.
