This week marks a significant milestone—The Forge. It’s the final test, the ultimate challenge that transforms recruits into soldiers. What is The Forge? The Forge is a grueling 96-hour field training exercise at the end of Basic Combat Training. It pushes recruits to their physical, mental, and emotional limits. They face intense scenarios, including simulated combat situations, sleep and food deprivation, long marches, and teamwork-based missions. It’s designed to test everything they’ve learned—resilience, endurance, problem-solving, and most importantly, the ability to push forward despite exhaustion and hardship. Why It Matters This is the moment where they prove they have what it takes to wear the uniform with pride. Once completed, they earn their beret and the title of United States Army Soldier.
